Dr. Donna Hurley

Donna Hurley MD is a native Austinite and can remember when the population sign at the city limit said just 120,000 inhabitants. She is retired from the active practice of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Austin after 20 years of providing care for thousands of women and delivering 10,000 new baby Austinites. She remains a passionate advocate of women's reproductive rights and has joined the Mueller Law team to advocate for women's health, education, and rights related to the use of transvaginal mesh for pelvic reconstructive surgery. Dr Hurley attended the University of Texas at Austin and Texas A&I University in Kingsville, Texas before attending the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. She received her medical degree with honors and was chosen to be a member of Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Scott and White Memorial Hospital and Clinic in Temple, Texas and then returned to her hometown to open her private OB-GYN practice. During her practice years, Dr. Hurley served as Chairman of Medical Affiliate Board of Planned Parenthood of Austin, as Chief of the division of OB-GYN at Seton Medical Center, and as chairman of the Medical Ethics Committee and OB-GYN Peer Review Committee at Seton. She was a co-founder of the Renaissance Women's Group in Austin. She is a strong advocate of a woman's right to sovereignty of her own body, and was a provider to underserved women at Reproductive Health Services of Austin for many years. She currently has retired status with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Texas Medical Association, Texas Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the Travis County Medical Society. She and Billy have been married for 36 years. They have two sons, two grandsons and four granddogs. Being a passionate supporter of her grandsons' activities, hopes and dreams brings her the greatest joy. She loves reading, writing, travel and the study of foreign languages. She has been a curious and committed explorer of consciousness for many years and loves being part of a worldwide commitment to personal and global transformation through fearless self-examination, personal responsibility, compassion and service to others.

Dr. Hurley was keenly interested in pelvic reconstructive surgery in her private practice. During her residency she trained with an internationally recognized pelvic support surgeon who is a champion of excellent care of women and an innovator in the field of non-mesh pelvic reconstructive surgery. Her continuing medical training and education were focused in this area. At Mueller Law, Dr Hurley is a member of The Mesh Team and is responsible for the medical review of all mesh cases.
